The description reads :
Spike Milligan
Comedian, novelist, poet and musician, Spike Milligan is best remembered as "the creator, principal writer and performing member of The Goon Show". Spike was born in India to an Irish-born officer in the British Army and an English mother.
From 1955 until 1974 he lived at 127 Holden Road, Woodside Park.
In the early 1970s he gave his support to the Finchley Society's successful campaign to save a row of Victorian cottages from demolition. He later became the Society's patron.
