These poultry studies are of the Grey Shanghai and the CrèveCoeur after the painting by H Weir in 1866 and these are hand colour engravings by the Leighton Brothers



Partnership of two brothers who foudned a firm of printers of colour wood-engravings and lithographs. George Leighton trained under George Baxter; printed and published the 'Illustrated London News', 1858-1885; patented a process of colour printing invented by Dean Wolstenholme, junior.
